Voting Process during election
Federal lawmaker, Awaji Inombek-Abiante, says voter inducement will lose its power if citizens are determined to vote according to their conscience.
The lawmaker representing Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency said vote buying thrives because of low public trust and weak civic values.
He warned that accepting money or gifts to vote for candidates without belief in their ideas leads to long-term consequences for voters.

“If you take inducement and vote against your belief, the benefit is temporary, but the suffering lasts much longer,” he said.
Inombek-Abiante urged Nigerians to reject vote buying willingly, not just because of laws, stressing the need for strong safeguards to ensure credible leaders emerge based on merit, not wealth.
