FIFA confirms June 2 deadline for final 2026 World Cup squads as nations prepare for the first-ever 48-team tournament.
FIFA World Cup has set June 2 as the deadline for all 48 participating nations to submit their final squad lists for the 2026 tournament.
The governing body confirmed that it will publish all official player rosters on the same day after approval.
FIFA Keeps Final Control
FIFA stated that national teams can announce their squads before the deadline. However, it will only recognise the lists as official after its final approval.
Each country will register up to 26 players, maintaining the same squad size used at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Provisional Squad Rules
FIFA requires all participating nations to submit provisional squads of between 35 and 55 players.
Each list must include at least four goalkeepers to ensure squad depth.
