Nigerian champions Edo Queens have taken a major step towards reaching the final of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B Qualifiers after defeating defending champions ASEC Mimosas 3-1 in their second Group B match in Burkina Faso.
Edo Queens established control early, with Oluwakemi Adegbuyi opening the scoring in the 23rd minute before Dooshima Tarnum doubled the lead shortly before half-time. ASEC Mimosas pulled one back through Doudou Yeti in the 83rd minute, but Umejaku Oluebube sealed the victory for the Nigerian champions with a late strike in the 89th minute.
The win takes Edo Queens to six points from two matches, putting them in a commanding position in Group B and boosting their hopes of advancing to the final of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B Qualifiers, where a strong finish could secure a place in the continental competition proper.
