FCT Police personnel deployed across Abuja to ensure safety during Easter celebrations.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has deployed 1,803 personnel alongside operational assets across Abuja to ensure a safe and hitch-free Easter celebration.
The deployment covers churches, recreational centres, and other public spaces, forming part of proactive efforts to strengthen existing security arrangements and safeguard residents during the festive period.
Enhanced Surveillance and Intelligence-Led Operations
In a statement issued on Friday night, the Command said the operation would involve enhanced visibility policing, intelligence-led operations, and coordinated vehicular and foot patrols.
Authorities also disclosed that continuous monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to ensure the prompt detection and prevention of criminal activities across the territory.

EOD Units Conduct Safety Sweeps
As part of the security measures, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Units have been directed to carry out routine sweeps of major public and recreational locations to mitigate potential threats and ensure public safety.
Police Urge Peaceful Conduct During Festivities
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ahmed Sanusi, extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful and urged residents to embrace peace, unity, and mutual respect.
He also called on citizens to remain law-abiding, while encouraging religious leaders to promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence during the celebrations.
Assurance of Safety, Call for Public Cooperation
The Police Commissioner reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property before, during, and after the Easter festivities.
He further appealed for continued cooperation with security agencies, urging residents to promptly report any suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines.
