Paris Saint-Germain defender and Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi will stand trial in France over an allegation of rape, French judicial sources have confirmed.
Multiple French media outlets, including France 24, reported on Tuesday that an investigating judge has ordered the case to proceed to trial, ending the investigative phase.
The case relates to a complaint filed on 26 February 2023 by a woman who said she was raped at Hakimi’s home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. She told investigators she met the footballer through social media and visited his home late on 24 February.
Hakimi was formally indicted five days later. In August 2025, prosecutors in Nanterre requested that the matter be referred to a criminal court.

The 27-year-old defender has consistently denied the allegation, saying the encounter was consensual. In a post on X on Tuesday, he said: “Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial… I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly.”
No trial date has been announced.
