The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the suspension of admissions into its Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The decision affects all categories of applicants, including Direct Entry candidates, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the university’s Registrar, C. O. Adeleye.
FUTA advised candidates who selected the institution for the MBBS programme during the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to immediately seek admission into other universities offering the programme.
The statement reiterated that no admissions would be conducted into the MBBS programme for the specified academic session and urged affected candidates to make alternative arrangements without delay.
