
Dangote Refinery management expresses appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and key government officials for resolving the PENGASSAN dispute.
The Dangote Refinery has publicly thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and top government officials for their swift intervention in resolving the recent industrial crisis involving the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
In a statement titled “PENGASSAN Strike, Dangote Refinery’s Note of Appreciation” dated October 6, 2025, the refinery says the President’s decisive leadership and the coordinated efforts of ministers and security chiefs “resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the Refinery.”
National Security Adviser
The company acknowledged the roles of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; DSS Director General, Adeola Toyin Ajayi; and NIA Director General, Mohammed Mohammed.
It also commended the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi, Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, and Minister of State for Labour, Neiruka Onyejeocha for working “untiringly into the wee hours of several nights” to avert disruptions that could have crippled Nigeria’s energy sector.

Dangote expresses Deep appreciation
Dangote Refinery expressed deep appreciation to the Nigerian public, stating: “Your support for our righteous cause was both humbling and overwhelming. We heard your supportive voices and words of encouragement in every street and media platform.”
The company also commended its workers for their resilience during the strike, saying:
“You proved your allegiance to our cause even in the face of provocative and inciting comments from detractors.”
Commitment to Fair Labour
Reaffirming its commitment to fair labour practices, Dangote Refinery described itself as one of Nigeria’s model employers and the country’s largest private sector employer and taxpayer.
The statement noted that its compensation framework is benchmarked against international standards to ensure employee welfare and reward excellence.
It also applauded the judiciary for standing by the truth and upholding justice during the crisis, describing the courts as “the bastion of hope for all of us.”
Nigeria’s economic progress
Dangote Refinery concluded by reiterating its unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s economic progress and stability, saying:
“Our commitment to the Nigerian nation and our pact with its people remain undiluted, undiminished, and unalterable despite distractions from detractors.”
