The Nigeria Police Force has announced that nationwide enforcement of tinted glass permits will commence on October 2, 2025, with motorists advised to complete their applications through the official online portal.
Spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Shi’isu Adam, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Dutse, the state capital. He urged Nigerians to use the approved website, possap.gov.ng, to avoid exploitation by unauthorised individuals.
“Applicants must carefully confirm all details before submitting their requests and making payments as directed on the portal,” Adam stressed, noting that accuracy is key for fast processing.

According to him, the process requires applicants to create an account using their NIN, BVN, or TIN, verify the account via email, and then log in to select the Tinted Glass Permit service. They must also upload vehicle details and other supporting documents before scheduling inspection and fingerprint biometric capturing at designated Police Intelligence Departments.
For motorists in Jigawa, Adam confirmed that biometric capturing will be conducted free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse.
He warned against patronising fraudsters posing as intermediaries, emphasising that the initiative is designed to enhance accountability and public safety.
“This initiative promotes transparency and ensures road safety for all,” the PPRO said.
