President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abdurrazaq Nakore as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano.
The President also named Professor Abdullahi Tukur Kodage as Vice Chancellor of the university.
Nakore, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, previously served as Executive Secretary of the Rural Electricity Board in Jigawa State.
In a related development, the President appointed Professor Yahaya Isa Bunkure as Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Professor Bunkure, a renowned scholar in science education, is currently the Vice Chancellor of Saadatu Rimi University of Education in Kano.
The two universities were among four Colleges of Education upgraded to full-fledged universities between twenty twenty-two and twenty twenty-three.
By law, the Pro-Chancellor will serve a four-year term, while the Vice Chancellors will each serve for five years.
