Charred remains and smoke-stained walls inside Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo’s Lagos office following the 8 July fire.
The daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has alleged that the fire which destroyed part of her mother’s Lagos office was not accidental, linking it to an earlier threat the family received during her wedding in Tanzania.
The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, 8 July 2025, around 7pm, and left parts of the building badly damaged.
In a video shared on Instagram, Priscilla Ojo displayed the aftermath of the fire, charred furniture, smoke-blackened walls, and debris scattered across the stairwell and hallway.
“This just happened today… my office building caught fire,” Iyabo Ojo wrote in a caption accompanying the footage.
The actress expressed gratitude that no one was injured in the blaze and thanked her staff and the Nigerian Fire Service for their quick response.
“Thankfully, no lives were lost. The devil tested us today, but God said no,” she said.
“With God on my side, we will bounce back bigger and better.”
While the exact cause of the fire has not been confirmed, Priscilla suggested that it may have been a targeted attack, citing a threat letter the family reportedly received weeks earlier.
No official statement has been released by fire authorities, and investigations into the incident are expected to follow.
