A devastating fire gutted the popular Wood and Timber Market, popularly known as Kara Market, in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, destroying shops and properties worth millions of naira.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started in the early hours of Sunday and rapidly spread, causing widespread damage before firefighters arrived at the scene.
The Kebbi State Government has expressed its deepest condolences to those affected by the incident. Fortunately, no lives were lost.
The State Deputy Governor visited the victims, offering words of comfort and donating 10 million naira on behalf of the Kebbi State Government to aid recovery efforts.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
