Mojisola Meranda has stepped down as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
She announced her resignation during a special plenary session on Monday afternoon, reading out her resignation letter:”This is a notice of resignation as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.”
Meranda assumed office on January 13, 2025, following the removal of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
Her resignation triggered a ripple effect, as all principal officers appointed alongside her also vacated their positions.
