Newly appointed Nigeria Volleyball Federation coaches during preparations to strengthen the country’s indoor and beach volleyball teams for international competitions
Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has appointed new coaches for its senior, age-grade and beach volleyball national teams as part of efforts to strengthen technical development and improve Nigeria’s competitiveness in international volleyball.
The appointments followed a screening and approval process aimed at preparing the national teams for upcoming regional, continental and global competitions.
For the Senior Men’s National Team, the federation appointed Coach Taiwo Oladipupo as Head Coach. Coach Twevini Yohanna will serve as Assistant Coach I and Setters Coach, while Coach Jonah Adamu takes the role of Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator.
In the Senior Women’s National Team, Coach Elam Elishama emerged as Head Coach. Coach Segun Abinde was appointed Assistant Coach I and Offensive Coordinator, while Coach Sunday Yunana Akapson will work as Setters Trainer.

The federation named Coach Adamu Nite as Head Coach of the Under-19 Boys team. He will work alongside Coach Ayo Aboderin as Assistant Coach I and Offensive Coordinator, while Coach Philip Stephen will serve as Setters Trainer.

For the Under-19 Girls team, Coach Vincent Unogwu will lead the side as Head Coach. Coach Bukola Faremi was appointed Assistant Coach I and Blocking and Defense Coordinator, while Coach Chinyere Onuoha will serve as Assistant Coach II and Offensive Coordinator.
Coach Sunday Yunana Akapson will head the Under-17 Girls team, assisted by Coach Jessica Egwuna as Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Coach Kinsley Alika was named Setters Trainer.
The Under-17 Boys team will be led by Coach Suleiman Ajeigbe, with Coach Ibrahim Adamu serving as Assistant Coach I and Offensive Coordinator, while Coach Osas Omoruyi joins the technical crew as Assistant Coach.
In beach volleyball, the federation appointed Coach Kayode and Coach Felicia Amos to oversee the Women’s Beach Volleyball Team, while Coach John Iwerima and Coach Jonathan Thaj will handle the Men’s Beach Volleyball Team.
The NVBF said the appointments reflect its commitment to building a stronger technical structure capable of improving player development and raising Nigeria’s performance in both indoor and beach volleyball competitions.
The federation also expressed confidence that the new coaching teams would provide the technical leadership needed to help Nigeria achieve sustained success at major international championships.
