The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that a TikTok content creator identified as Mirabel is currently receiving treatment in an intensive care unit (ICU) as authorities probe her allegations of sexual assault.
Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this on Thursday during an appearance on The Morning Brief on Channels Television.
Babaseyi said the command made contact with the influencer earlier this week after her viral videos triggered widespread outrage online.

He explained that officers initially traced her to the Ibafo area before establishing that the alleged incident occurred in Ogijo, a border community between Ogun and Lagos states.
“When the DPO in Ibafo met with her, she was taken to the hospital for medical analysis. She wasn’t as stable as necessary, but we ensured the investigation continued.
“As we speak, she is in the intensive care unit getting appropriate care. Her medical well-being is more important to us at this point. When she is stable, we can now continue investigations and get the necessary facts,” Babaseyi said.
He stressed that her health remains the immediate priority, noting that investigators would obtain a comprehensive statement once she is medically fit.
The case has sparked heated debate across social media platforms, with some users questioning the credibility of her claims. However, the police spokesperson cautioned against drawing conclusions prematurely.
“We advise people not to jump to conclusions based on emotions. We are investigating and will rely on evidence to reach a logical conclusion,” he said, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Babaseyi confirmed that invitations have been issued to certain individuals in connection with the case but declined to disclose further details to protect the integrity of the investigation.
He also dismissed reports circulating online that Mirabel had been arrested, clarifying that she approached the police to lodge a complaint and is being treated as a victim.
“She was not arrested by the police. She reported a case, and we are investigating. Nothing like her arrest happened,” he said.
The command reiterated that due process would be followed, stating:
“If the allegation is established to be true, the perpetrator will be arrested and charged to court appropriately. If otherwise, the law also addresses giving false information.”
