Organisers said the event reflected on Muhammed’s short but decisive leadership, remembered for firm anti-corruption actions, public service reforms and national discipline.
Muhammed ruled Nigeria from 1975 until his assassination on February 13, 1976. In about 200 days, his government dismissed more than 10,000 public officials over corruption claims, created seven states, began plans for a return to civilian rule and initiated the move of Nigeria’s capital from Lagos to Abuja.
