The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has issued a strong call to security agencies to urgently rescue worshippers abducted by suspected terrorists in Kaduna State and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Speaker Abbas condemned the attack, describing it as a disturbing continuation of mass kidnappings across the country.
He expressed concern that schools and places of worship, once regarded as safe spaces, have increasingly become targets of criminal violence.
Abbas said the recurring attacks underscored the need for decisive and coordinated security action to curb insecurity and restore public confidence nationwide.

While reaffirming his confidence in the capacity of the President Bola Tinubu administration to reverse the current security challenges, the Speaker stressed that lasting solutions would require collective action by government institutions, security agencies and other stakeholders.
He also commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for what he described as proactive leadership at a critical time, noting that the state had experienced relative peace since the governor assumed office in May 2023.
According to the Speaker, Governor Sani’s visit to the Kurmin Wali community on Wednesday demonstrated a firm commitment to protecting lives and property and addressing the concerns of affected residents.
Speaker Abbas offered prayers for the safe return of the abducted worshippers to their families and communities and reiterated the National Assembly’s support for all lawful measures aimed at strengthening security and protecting citizens across the country.
