President Bola Tinubu says the growing support he enjoys from members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is pushing him to deliver more results for Nigerians.
The President spoke with journalists on Saturday, after voting at the APC presidential primary election held at Ikoyi-Obalende Ward L2 in Lagos.
Reacting to the massive support from party members, Tinubu said the confidence shown in his leadership increases the responsibility on his administration to improve governance and national development.
“I’m just excited; they challenge me to do more,” the President said.
Tinubu described the nationwide APC primaries as a strong display of internal democracy and grassroots participation within the ruling party.
He said APC members actively participated in the electoral process from ward congresses to delegate accreditation, membership validation, and leadership selection.
According to the President, the peaceful conduct of the primaries reflects growing democratic maturity within the party and strengthens public confidence in democratic institutions.
Tinubu praised APC governors, party leaders, electoral officials, and security agencies for ensuring a smooth and credible exercise across the country.
He stressed that transparent and inclusive political processes remain critical to sustaining democracy and strengthening political stability nationwide.
The President also urged Nigerians to continue supporting democratic institutions and national unity while his administration pursues policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and expanding economic opportunities.
Tinubu arrived at the polling venue alongside First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, while Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos APC Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and former Finance Minister Wale Edun led other party officials to receive him.
