The United States Department of State will release a limited-edition US passport design to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with an image of Donald Trump set to appear inside some copies, officials confirmed Tuesday.
The move follows reports by Fox News and The Bulwark, which published images of the commemorative design.
One image shows Trump’s official photograph superimposed over the Declaration of Independence with his signature in gold beneath it. Another features a historic painting of the Founding Fathers.

State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott announced the plan on X.
“As the United States celebrates America’s 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited number of specially designed US passports to commemorate this historic occasion,” Pigott said, linking to the Fox News report.
A State Department official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Trump-themed passports would be available only in Washington and “for as long as there is availability,” adding that there would be no additional cost to applicants.
It was not immediately clear whether passport applicants would be able to opt out of receiving the commemorative version.
