Nigeria has signed a revised Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with Morocco, a move aimed at strengthening tourism links and expanding flight operations between both countries.
The agreement was signed by Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, during the Global Implementation Support Symposium in Marrakech.
He described the development as a significant step toward enhancing bilateral air transport relations.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, said the agreement is designed to expand connectivity, create new opportunities for airlines, and strengthen commercial and economic ties between Nigeria and Morocco.
“On the second day of the Conference, the Honourable Minister signed a Revised Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with the Kingdom of Morocco,” the statement read in part.
“It establishes a modern and forward-looking framework that enhances connectivity, deepens commercial cooperation, and expands operational opportunities for airlines, airports, and regulatory institutions.”

According to the government, the revised pact aligns with broader continental aviation objectives while reinforcing standards in safety, security, and environmental sustainability.
It is also expected to stimulate trade, tourism, investment flows, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
