A viral video circulating on Wednesday has triggered public outrage and an official investigation after a woman accused a hospital in the Ikotun area of Lagos State of allegedly withholding one of her newborn twins following delivery.
The footage, shared on X by AsakyGRN, shows the visibly distressed mother holding a newborn while shouting at medical personnel at Tip-Top Solution Hospital, demanding the whereabouts of her second baby.
“Produce my second baby. This is not good enough. I did not come to this hospital to be robbed of my baby,” she was heard shouting in the video.
In the background, accompanying relatives were also seen demanding the arrest of hospital staff over alleged baby trafficking.
Scan Report Sparks Confusion
The video also featured a prenatal scan report allegedly belonging to the patient, identified as 28-year-old Blessing Isioma David. The document, dated March 2026, indicated a twin pregnancy with two foetuses observed, including details suggesting both a male (XY) and female (XX) fetus.
According to the report, “Twin visible. Twin 1 is an oblique cephalic while Twin 2 is a transverse presentation. Normal cardiac pulsations noted.”
Hospital Denies Allegations
However, the medical director of Tip-Top Solution Hospital, Dr. Sunday Babajide, dismissed the allegations, insisting that only one baby was delivered.
He described the scan report as inaccurate, claiming it was not verified through a second examination.
“The scan was wrong… it was an error; it said two instead of one,” he said, adding that the husband was present during the delivery and confirmed only one baby was delivered.

Babajide also noted that the hospital later informed the family immediately after birth, while acknowledging that a second scan should have been requested for confirmation.
Police Begin Investigation
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force, through the Lagos State Command, confirmed it has launched an investigation into the incident.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said relevant professional bodies have also been involved to ensure a thorough review of the case.
According to the Command, the Area Commander in Area M is overseeing the investigation, while findings will be made public upon conclusion.
Authorities urged the public to remain calm, assuring that the matter is being handled professionally and transparently.
