Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly addressed swirling rumours about her personal life and alleged drug use, revealing that she voluntarily underwent drug tests as part of a decision to confront speculation and reclaim her narrative.
Daniels disclosed this in a detailed statement posted on her Instagram page, where she described the past few months as one of the most difficult periods of her life. The actress, who has been in the public eye amid reports of a strained relationship with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, said the experience marked a profound turning point.
According to her, the decision to take the drug test was driven by a desire for accountability, integrity and personal peace, as well as gratitude for the support she received from family, friends and members of the public.
“The past few months of my life have been nothing short of heavy,” Daniels wrote. “It has been a major turning point, one that shook me to my core. Everything I had ever known was drowning right in front of me. But here’s the plot twist… I didn’t drown with it.”
She credited what she described as “overwhelming love, support, patience, and understanding” from those around her for helping her through the period, saying it gave her the strength to confront the rumours head-on.

Daniels said one of the claims that troubled her most was the portrayal of her as a drug addict, a label she firmly rejected.
“One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict,’” she said. “I paused, then I checked again. I looked at myself in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict.”
She described the allegations as projections rather than reality, stressing that public noise should not be mistaken for truth.
“That’s when it hit me,” she wrote. “People often project their fears, insecurities, and negativity onto you. But projection is not reality, and noise is not truth.”
The actress said taking the test was a conscious choice to stand by those who support her and to define herself on her own terms.
“Do you allow yourself to be defined by other people’s opinions, or do you create your own narrative?” she asked. “As for me, I choose the latter every single time.”
Daniels added that the current phase of her life is focused on self-discovery and growth, expressing gratitude to God for strength and resilience.
“This chapter of my life is now about self discovery, self growth, and becoming even more intentional about who I am and where I’m going,” she said. “I’m still standing, still growing, and just getting started.”
