Manchester United are weighing former managers as they seek stability after Ruben Amorim’s dismissal.
Manchester United are considering former managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick as the club searches for an interim head coach following the sacking of Ruben Amorim.
It was reported that Solskjaer and Carrick held informal talks with United’s sporting director, Jason Wilcox, on Tuesday, a day before the club’s Premier League match against Burnley.
Former United midfielder Darren Fletcher has been placed in temporary charge and will lead the team for the Burnley fixture.

Amorim was dismissed on Monday after 14 months in charge, following reports of a fallout with Wilcox. United said the decision was taken to give the team the best chance of a strong league finish.
Solskjaer, who managed United between 2018 and 2021, could return to the Old Trafford bench if appointed. Carrick previously served as interim manager after Solskjaer’s exit.
United are currently sixth in the Premier League, with eight wins from 20 matches, as pressure mounts on the club to stabilise performances.
