Senator Ned Nwoko addresses claims about Regina Daniels’ age at marriage, citing INEC voter’s card evidence.
Senator Ned Nwoko has dismissed claims by actress Regina Daniels that he married her when she was 17, insisting she was 21 at the time of their marriage.
In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the senator representing Delta North described the allegation as “entirely untrue and misleading.”
“It has come to my attention that false claims are being circulated by Regina, suggesting that I married her when she was 17 years old. These claims are entirely untrue,” Nwoko stated.

He explained that during their first meeting, Regina presented her Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter’s card, which indicated her date of birth as October 10, 1998.
“During my first meeting with Regina, I asked her age, and she told me she was 21 years old. She showed me her voter’s card to confirm it. I have kept that document in my possession since that day,” he said.
The lawmaker added that Regina’s mother had previously confirmed her daughter’s age in a BBC interview after their marriage.
Nwoko further urged the public to verify the facts before accepting what he called “false narratives,” adding that the actress is currently struggling with health and personal issues.
“According to all verifiable records, our marriage took place six years ago, which means Regina is 27 years old today. Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false,” he said.
He also urged the public to treat her recent claims “with caution and discernment,” alleging she had “started and abandoned rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction.”
