President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, describing the victory as “an affirmation of visionary leadership” and a reflection of the people’s confidence in his administration’s performance.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Soludo the winner of Saturday’s Anambra governorship election, after the All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) candidate won decisively across all 21 local government areas of the state.
In a statement personally signed and released on Sunday, President Tinubu commended the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and INEC for conducting a peaceful and credible poll. He urged the governor to remain magnanimous in victory and continue delivering on his promises to the people.
“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu stated.
“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people, undergirding accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.”

Tinubu recalled his visit to Anambra State in May, where he inaugurated several developmental projects executed by the Soludo administration, praising the governor’s “discipline, brilliance, and innovative governance style.”
“That experience remains remarkable and indelible in my mind,” Tinubu said. “Under his leadership, Anambra is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.”
Pledging continued federal–state collaboration, Tinubu assured Soludo of his administration’s full support in advancing development initiatives in Anambra and beyond.
“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support and look forward to sustained cooperation between the Anambra State Government and the Federal Government,” he added.
“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance again demonstrates the vitality of our democracy and proves that success for any hardworking leader can never be denied.”
The President also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for what he described as “a credible and transparent election,” urging the commission to build on the momentum for future polls.
“I charge the commission with maintaining the standards and improving performance so that we can continue to strengthen and deepen our electoral process,” Tinubu said.
Governor Soludo’s victory extends APGA’s two-decade dominance in Anambra politics and makes him the third governor in the state’s history—after Peter Obi and Willie Obiano—to secure a second term in office.
