Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been re-elected as the Governor of Anambra State after securing an emphatic victory in the November 8, 2025 governorship election, sweeping all 21 local government areas of the state.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, declared Soludo the winner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Awka on Sunday, confirming the former Central Bank Governor’s overwhelming mandate.

Soludo garnered 422,664 votes, far ahead of his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes, while Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.
“Having scored the highest number of valid votes and satisfied the requirements of the law, I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Returning Officer for the 2025 Anambra Governorship Election, hereby declare Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner and returned elected,” Omoregie announced.
According to INEC, 16 candidates participated in the poll. Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, 598,229 were accredited to vote. The total valid votes were 584,054, while 11,244 were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 595,298.
Although minor incidents led to the cancellation of 10,481 votes in parts of Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka South, and Onitsha South LGAs, INEC said the margin of victory was too wide to affect the outcome.
