The Nigerian Cricket Federation (NCF) board elections have ushered in a mix of continuity and fresh leadership as Endurance Ofem secured re-election as Technical Representative.
Also, Olumide Akintokun emerged as the new Players’ Representative.
The elections, held during the federation’s Annual General Meeting, saw Ofem defeat Chineze Onwizurike by 30 votes to 6, extending his tenure to a third consecutive term.

Akintokun, meanwhile, won a resounding mandate with 37 votes, positioning himself as the new voice of Nigerian cricketers at board level.
Speaking after his victory, Ofem described his re-election as a mark of trust and responsibility to further strengthen the sport.
“It’s a privilege to serve a third time on the board. It reflects the commitment I bring to the table,” he said.
He applauded NCF President, Uyi Akpata, for his leadership, highlighting the federation’s achievements under his watch — including Nigeria’s participation in two World Cups and wider grassroots expansion.
Ofem also pointed to his past contributions in securing player contracts, expanding international tours, and creating player pathways in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Looking ahead, he pledged to deepen development nationwide through a hub system that connects every region with top coaches.
For Akintokun, the win represents both a personal milestone and a signal of change in Nigerian cricket governance.
“I’m elated. This shows that the cricket fraternity recognizes the need to change ideas, refresh systems, and move the sport forward,” he said.
The new Players’ Representative promised to bring creativity, corporate governance, and innovation into cricket administration, moving beyond “business as usual” approaches.
Together, Ofem and Akintokun are expected to drive key reforms across player welfare, coaching structures, grassroots development, and international exposure. With Nigeria’s male and female Under-19 teams.
Already competing on the global stage, the new board now faces the challenge of sustaining momentum and building stronger pathways for future generations of cricketers.
