The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, through its Lagos Information Centre, has launched a grassroots sensitisation campaign to highlight President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mid-term achievements. The initiative took place at the Ijeh POWA Market in Obalende, Lagos, aiming to inform traders and community members about government programs in education, agriculture, health, electrification, and social welfare.
Mrs. Olabisi Osilaja, head of the Lagos Information Centre and representative of the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, said the outreach was designed to translate government accomplishments into accessible benefits for market communities. “We want market communities to access education, affordable healthcare, credit support for small businesses, and continue relying on the Renewed Hope Agenda for grassroots development,” she said.

On education, Mrs. Osilaja encouraged traders to help their children apply online for the federal student loan fund, citing successful beneficiaries, including a trader’s child admitted to the University of Ibadan. She also highlighted expanded school infrastructure and increased electricity supply, noting the addition of 1,000 megawatts to the national grid.
On healthcare, attendees were informed of upgraded and well-equipped health centres providing subsidized services under the National Health Insurance Authority.
Market women at the event expressed appreciation for the government’s outreach and the clarity of the programs.

“I am thankful the government is talking directly to us, explaining the education and health programs that support our families,” said Oluwayemisi Kadiri.
Comfort Friday added, “I wish for a small business loan to expand my trade. I also hope food prices will become more manageable so my business can help feed my family affordably.”
