In a bold push for youth participation in governance, more than one million young Nigerians have registered with the Take Action Campaign (TAC) just one week after its official launch.
Director General of the Youth in Parliament Forum, Tony Nwulu, disclosed this in a statement, describing the surge in registrations as a historic and unprecedented step toward a youth-led political transformation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“This milestone is not just a number; it’s a loud, clear signal that young Nigerians are ready to lead, legislate, and deliver a new narrative for our country,” Nwulu said. “It affirms what we’ve always believed—that the future of Nigeria is not tomorrow, it’s now.”
Nwulu, who championed the Not Too Young To Run Bill during his tenure in the House of Representatives, said the campaign aligns with the Act and seeks to identify, support, and promote credible youth aspirants for positions ranging from state houses of assembly to the national legislature.
The initiative also aims to mobilize millions of first-time and returning youth voters across the country, with a target of 20 million registered young voters by the 2027 election season.
According to Nwulu, the movement represents a new wave of political awakening and civic consciousness among Nigerians aged 25 and above, determined to take their place in shaping the nation’s future.
