The Office of the Vice-President has strongly condemned what it calls a calculated campaign of misinformation designed to create the impression of a power struggle within the Presidency.
A statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice-President, dismisses the reports as baseless fabrications aimed at misleading Nigerians.
The Presidency particularly debunked a viral claim alleging that Vice-President Kashim Shettima was denied access to the Presidential Villa by armed military personnel.
Describing the story as “wishful thinking” and “far removed from reality,” the statement noted that those behind the falsehood have exhausted both ink and imagination.
The rebuttal comes amid a fresh wave of unverified stories, including alleged campaign posters bearing the image of President Bola Tinubu.
Nkwocha emphasized that the Vice-President remains focused on his constitutional duties and fully committed to supporting President Tinubu in meeting the hopes and aspirations of Nigerians.
He called on the public to disregard such malicious reports and urged media practitioners to uphold professionalism by verifying claims through credible sources before dissemination.
The Presidency insists it stands united and remains committed to delivering on its promises to Nigerians.
