
Vice President Kashim Shettima has emphasized the need to fully harness the technological skills of Nigerian youths to drive the country toward economic transformation.
Speaking at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, during the graduation of Senior Executive Course 46, Shettima reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to repositioning the digital economy through various initiatives.
He stressed that investing in the youth, who make up over 60% of Nigeria’s population, is crucial for achieving sustainable economic growth.
“Policies are being implemented to enhance vocational and technical education, boost agriculture, and equip young Nigerians with skills in technology, construction, and the creative industries,” Shettima stated.
He also assured the Federal Government’s continued support for NIPSS, enabling the institute to fulfill its mandate of providing strategic policy direction for national development.
Call for Peace
Vice President Shettima commended the Plateau State Government and its people for the relative peace currently enjoyed in the region. He urged citizens to foster tolerance and unity for national progress.
Similarly, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang congratulated the graduates of Senior Executive Course 46 and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired knowledge to nation-building.
NIPSS Commitment
The Director-General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, reiterated the institute’s dedication to providing policy recommendations that will drive Nigeria’s development. He highlighted that the training programs have been enhanced to reflect evolving challenges and opportunities.
As part of their contribution, the participants of Senior Executive Course 46 constructed an eye and dental clinic to serve participants, staff, and the Kuru community.
The theme of Senior Executive Course 46 was:
“Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment, and Sustainable Job Creation in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities.”
