Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja as part of his post-election consultations.
The visit came shortly after Adeleke met President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he presented his certificate of return and thanked the President for what he described as allowing the electoral process to run its course.
A photograph shared on X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, showed Adeleke and Wike holding the governor’s certificate of return.
Adeleke won the August 15 governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party with 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
He won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas.
Speaking after his meeting with Tinubu, Adeleke praised the President for respecting the electoral process.
He said his visit was primarily to thank Tinubu, whom he described as the “father of the nation”, for allowing what he called a free and fair election.
The governor is expected to continue consultations with political leaders and other stakeholders following his re-election.
