Manchester City have confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new manager, ushering in a new era following the departure of Pep Guardiola.
The Italian tactician has signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2029.
Maresca, 46, returns to Manchester City for a third spell after previous roles at the club and arrives with managerial experience gained at Leicester City and Chelsea.

Expressing his delight after the appointment, the former midfielder described the opportunity as one of the biggest moments of his coaching career.
“Manchester City is a club I know very well and to have the chance to manage this team is a brilliant opportunity for me,” Maresca said.
He praised City’s structure and football philosophy, describing the club as an ideal environment for success.
“City is an incredibly well-run football club. Everything they do is innovative, planned and purposeful. For a manager, that is a dream situation. It provides the consistency I need to do my job effectively.”
Maresca said his familiarity with the club’s culture and expectations would help him build on the foundations laid during one of the most successful periods in Manchester City’s history.
“I know the demands, and I know the expectations. The quality of the people who work here is what makes it so special, and I want to thank them for showing faith in my ability.”
The new City boss also outlined his ambitions for the team, promising an attractive style of football alongside a relentless pursuit of trophies.
“I cannot wait to start coaching the players. I want us to win, play good football and enjoy the pressure of representing Manchester City,” he added.
Maresca now takes on the challenge of succeeding Guardiola and maintaining Manchester City’s status as one of Europe’s elite clubs while leading the next chapter in the club’s history.
