Matchday Two of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League delivered a shift in early standings, as defending champions Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors suffered a shock defeat and former winners asserted dominance in a high-scoring day of action in Birnin Kebbi.
The biggest upset came as Ibom BSC stunned the title holders 4-2, signalling a potential power shift in the competition. Uwana Aniete led the charge with a brace in a commanding performance that earned him Man of the Match honours, while Emem Ekong and Aliyu Aliyu added crucial goals.

Despite a spirited response from Anambra captain Gabriel Chinweze, whose two goals kept his side in contention, the defending champions were unable to avoid a damaging opening-round setback.
Jigawa Bounce Back in Style
Jigawa Golden Stars responded strongly to their earlier defeat with a convincing 7-3 win over Niger BSC. Captain Bagudu Hamza delivered a standout performance, scoring a hat-trick, while Rabiu Ali added a brace. Matarazi Salisu and Samaila Bawa also found the net to complete a dominant attacking display.

Niger BSC showed flashes of resistance through Abdullahi Aliyu’s brace and Mustapha Usman’s goal but struggled to contain Jigawa’s relentless pressure.
Kada Extend Anambra’s Woes
Former champions Kada BSC compounded Anambra’s difficulties, securing a 5-3 victory in a fiercely contested encounter that handed the defending champions their second consecutive defeat.

Dozie Frank continued his remarkable form, scoring four goals to take his tally to 10 in just two matches. Tanko Emmanuel added another, while Anambra’s response came through braces from Patrick Onyebuchi and Gabriel Chinweze, alongside a goal from Chizoba Uche.
Kebbi Fishers Stage Stunning Comeback
Earlier, three-time champions Kebbi Fishers BSC produced one of the most remarkable comebacks of the season, overturning a 3-0 deficit to defeat debutants BAM Projects BSC 7-4 in a thrilling local derby.
Hassan Muhammad inspired the turnaround with two goals, while Sadiqee Umar, Usman Bello, Suleiman Abdullahi, Badmus Fuad, and Hassan Abdullahi all contributed to a relentless attacking surge.
BAM Projects had taken early control through a brace from Nazifi Aliyu, with additional goals from Surajo Hassan and Jibrin Yahaya, but were ultimately overwhelmed by the hosts’ second-half resurgence.
Momentum Builds in Kebbi
With over 2,000 spectators in attendance and traditional Tauri performances adding cultural energy to the atmosphere, Matchday Two reinforced the growing appeal of beach soccer in Nigeria.
