TCN to carry out preventive maintenance at Ife/Ondo substation from Feb 2–5, affecting power supply.
Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled a preventive maintenance exercise at the Ife/Ondo 330/132kV and 132/33kV Transmission Substation from Monday, February 2, to Thursday, February 5, 2026.
According to TCN, the work will take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and aims to improve electricity transmission reliability in the region.
During the exercise, contractors will replace an old wave trap with a new one and upgrade single-circuit towers to double-circuit towers on the Ife/Ondo 132/33kV line.
The maintenance will cause a temporary interruption of bulk electricity supply, preventing the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) from supplying power to Okitipupa, Ondo, and surrounding areas during the period.
