Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema is in negotiations to join Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Hilal amid growing tension with his current club, Al-Ittihad.
Al-Hilal are seeking to sign the French striker for the remaining six months of his contract, but his agent is pushing for a longer deal of 18 months, the source said.
Benzema, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, has scored eight goals in 14 league games this season but missed Al-Ittihad’s last two matches. Reports say he is unhappy with the club’s contract extension offer.
Both Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal are owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, raising questions about player movement within state-backed clubs.

The former France international joined Al-Ittihad in 2023 after 14 seasons with Real Madrid. He scored 21 goals last season to help the club win the league. This season, Al-Ittihad are 12 points behind Al-Hilal in the title race.

Coach Sergio Conceicao declined to comment on Benzema’s absence, saying the matter should be addressed by club management.
