Federal Government has pledged to partner with the Niger State Government to develop the state’s tourism sector and promote its rich cultural heritage for economic growth.
The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, made the commitment in Abuja while receiving a Niger State delegation led by the member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency, Hon. Saidu Abdullahi, alongside the General Manager of the Niger State Tourism Corporation, Zainab Mohammed.

Abdullahi said the visit was to seek federal collaboration to showcase Niger State’s tourism assets, particularly Bida, Nigeria’s first UNESCO Creative City for Crafts and Folk Art, and to reposition the historic Bariki Festival as an international cultural event capable of driving job creation and wealth generation.
Responding, Musawa identified Niger State as a priority under the ministry’s Renewed Hope Cultural Renaissance Project, noting its cultural depth and attractions such as Zuma Rock.
