Governor Sanwo-Olu signs Lagos State’s ₦4.4 trillion 2026 budget into law.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the ₦4.4 trillion 2026 budget into law, the state government announced on Monday.
The ceremony took place at Lagos House, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, with Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, members of the State Executive Council, lawmakers, and other stakeholders in attendance.

The Lagos State House of Assembly had passed the appropriation bill in January, approving ₦4,444,509,776,438 for the 2026 fiscal year. The budget, tagged the “Budget of Shared Prosperity,” is aimed at promoting inclusive growth and improving living standards across the state.

Sanwo-Olu said the budget focuses on four key pillars: a human-centred approach, modern infrastructure, a thriving economy, and effective governance, all aligned with the state’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.
“Our mission remains clear: to eradicate poverty and build a Lagos that works for all,” he said. “Shared prosperity is not an aspiration but a reality we intend to deliver for every resident.”
