APC governorship candidate Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji pledges interest-free loans, grants and market upgrades during an endorsement rally in Osogbo.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the August 15, 2026, Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to introduce interest-free loans and regular grants for traders, artisans and small business owners if elected governor.
Oyebamiji made the promise during an endorsement rally organised by market leaders and traders at Igbonna Market in Osogbo, where hundreds of traders declared their support for his candidacy ahead of the governorship election.
The APC candidate said his administration would improve access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises through grants and an interest-free loan scheme aimed at boosting entrepreneurship and expanding economic opportunities across the state.
“Our government will support market men and women through regular grants and an interest-free loan scheme. We will formulate policies that give business owners unrestricted access to financial support,” Oyebamiji said.
Beyond financial support, Oyebamiji pledged to modernise markets across Osun by providing critical infrastructure, improving security and creating a more business-friendly environment. He said artisans and other small business operators would also benefit from his administration’s economic empowerment programmes.
The governorship candidate added that protecting lives and property would remain a priority to encourage commerce, attract investment and strengthen the state’s economy.
Speaking on behalf of the traders, the Babaloja General of Osun State, Chief David Iyiola, represented by the Otun Babaloja of Igbonna Market, Chief Muideen Ajao, said traders endorsed Oyebamiji because of his track record in public service and the private sector.
The traders also pledged to mobilise support for the APC candidate across the state, expressing confidence in his ability to drive economic growth and improve residents’ welfare.
Oyebamiji thanked the traders for the endorsement, describing it as a reflection of growing public confidence in his vision for Osun State. He expressed optimism that the increasing support from market associations and other stakeholders would translate into victory in the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
