Former Bayelsa governorship candidate Udengs Eradiri says growing grassroots support for President Tinubu reflects confidence in his reforms and leadership
Former Bayelsa governorship candidate Udengs Eradiri says growing grassroots support for President Tinubu reflects confidence in his reforms and leadership.
Former Bayelsa governorship candidate, Udengs Eradiri, has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election remains certain as supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Eradiri made the declaration while monitoring the APC presidential primary election in Ward 10, Agudama-Ekpetiama, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State under the Door-to-Door Campaign for Tinubu.
Representing the campaign’s founder, Government Ekpemupolo, Eradiri told party supporters that opposition efforts to stop Tinubu’s second term bid would fail.
He said the President’s economic reforms had started producing visible impact at the grassroots despite initial economic difficulties.
According to Eradiri, Tinubu’s policies require more time to fully stabilise the economy, strengthen institutions, and drive long-term national development.
The former President of the Ijaw Youth Council argued that another term for Tinubu would allow the administration to consolidate ongoing reforms and lay a stronger economic foundation for the country.
“In the Door-to-Door Campaign, we believe firmly that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not negotiable,” Eradiri said.
He described the turnout of APC members during the primary election as evidence of the President’s growing grassroots support and a reflection of internal democracy within the ruling party.
Eradiri also said the APC had shown strong organisational readiness from ward congresses to presidential primaries, adding that the party remained focused on retaining power in 2027.
The former Bayelsa Commissioner for Youths and Environment dismissed concerns over opposition coalitions, insisting that no opposition presidential aspirant currently matches Tinubu’s political experience and leadership capacity.
He said Nigerians were increasingly supporting the President because they believed his administration was taking difficult but necessary decisions to reposition the country’s economy.
Chairman of the APC in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Zikenah Tunks Coker, also expressed confidence in the party’s chances in Bayelsa and across the country.
Coker said the APC remained focused on strengthening its support base despite activities by opposition parties, stressing that democracy thrives on political competition.
