The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has clarified that the recent diversion of its C-130 aircraft to Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, was a precautionary safety measure in line with international aviation protocols.
The aircraft, which was on a ferry mission to Portugal, made the unscheduled landing after the crew detected a technical issue shortly after taking off from Lagos on 8 December 2025.
