Security forces detained a doctor accused of delivering medical supplies to kidnappers amid rising attacks in Kwara State.
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a medical doctor accused of supplying drugs to kidnappers operating in parts of Kwara State.
The doctor was intercepted in the Jebba area following intelligence reports on the activities of bandit groups and their couriers.
Officials said the criminal gangs appear increasingly desperate for medical care after sustaining gunshot wounds in clashes with security forces.
A security source urged tighter security in health facilities around forested communities that may be targeted by the gangs.

Kwara has recorded a surge in attacks in recent months.
In November, gunmen abducted 38 worshippers in Eruku, killing three people. A farmer was also seized along the Eruku–Koro Road.
In the same month, the Ojibara of Bayagan, Oba Kamilu Salami, was abducted in Ifelodun Local Government Area but escaped days later with six others after vigilantes stormed the forest.
In Edu Local Government Area, gunmen kidnapped four rice farmers in Bokungi Village during the harvest period. Witnesses said the attackers arrived suddenly, surrounded the farmers and forced them into the bush.
