NIS warns of temporary passport service slowdowns during scheduled digital platform maintenance.
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says its Passport Digital Platform will be temporarily unavailable due to routine system maintenance.
NIS spokesperson Akinsola Akinlabi said the upgrade is intended to improve system performance and user experience.
The maintenance will take place from 12:00 a.m. on 12 December to 6:00 a.m. on 14 December 2025 (GMT).
During this period, users may face slow response times, limited access, or temporary service disruptions.

NIS urged passport applicants to be patient, noting that the exercise is essential for maintaining a secure and efficient digital system. Users who need help within the window can contact the support team via support@immigration.gov.ng or through official social media platforms.
The announcement comes days after the agency activated temporary complaint-response channels on X and Instagram, following the suspension of its earlier support accounts. The temporary handles include @InquireAtNaija, @nigimmigration, and @InquireAtNaija_.
