Kwara mourns Major General Abdullahi Adangba Mohammed, former NSA and presidential Chief of Staff, who passed away at 86.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Major General Abdullahi Adangba Mohammed (rtd), a former Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
The condolence message was contained in a statement released on Wednesday, by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
General Mohammed, who died at 86, was praised by President Tinubu as a disciplined, loyal, and patriotic officer who left indelible marks on Nigeria’s security architecture.
The President recalled the late General’s instrumental role in establishing the National Security Organisation (NSO), the precursor to today’s State Security Service (SSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).
He also served as Governor of the defunct Benue-Plateau State between 1975 and 1976.

“He was a man of exemplary character, who combined the precision of a soldier with the prudence of a statesman,” President Tinubu said.
“His years in the State House were marked by humility, efficiency, and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian project.”
President Tinubu commiserated with the family of the late General, the Kwara State Government, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and all Nigerians mourning the loss of a distinguished son of the nation.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grants him Aljannah Firdaus and comforts his family.
