Afrobeats icon Wizkid has hit another global milestone as his 2021 hit track ‘Mood’, featuring BNXN, has officially earned Gold certification in New Zealand.
The recognition, confirmed by Recorded Music NZ, means the song has surpassed 7,500 units in combined sales and streams, cementing its success in the country.
Originally released as a bonus track on Wizkid’s Made in Lagos (Deluxe Edition), ‘Mood’ has now become Wizkid’s sixth certification in New Zealand and BNXN’s second, marking a career-defining achievement for both stars.
This latest accolade comes during what has already been a groundbreaking year for Wizkid, who picked up 11 new plaques in 2025 alone. It also reinforces Afrobeats’ continued dominance on the international stage.
With New Zealand joining the growing list of countries embracing African sounds, the certification underscores how Afrobeats has evolved into a global movement, with artists like Wizkid and BNXN consistently breaking cultural and industry barriers.
