Kwara State Primary Health Care boss, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, says Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration is investing in infrastructure, staffing, and digital tools to strengthen grassroots healthcare.
The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery with fresh investments in infrastructure, human resources, and digital innovations.
Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, made this known while receiving executives of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, stakeholders from Oke-Ero Local Government, and the Head of Department, Health, in her office.

Prof. Elelu said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration has shown strong political will in ensuring that rural and underserved communities have access to quality healthcare.
“The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration has consistently demonstrated commitment towards making healthcare more accessible to every citizen, especially in underserved rural communities. The state has made huge investments in revitalising the primary healthcare sector, thus ensuring that quality services are brought closer to the people,” she said.
According to her, more than 70 Primary Health Care Centres have been renovated and equipped across the state, with several others undergoing phased upgrades. Facilities have also been provided with essential medical equipment, solar-powered boreholes, and backup power systems to guarantee uninterrupted services.
The state, she added, has prioritised the supply of essential drugs, recruitment of health workers, and continuous training of nurses and midwives to improve service delivery. To further enhance efficiency, the agency has deployed digital innovations to strengthen health information systems for better monitoring and accountability.
Prof. Elelu acknowledged the sacrifices of frontline workers, stressing the government’s recognition of their role in saving lives.
“Nurses and midwives are the backbone of our health system. The Kwara State Government acknowledges your sacrifices, your resilience, and your dedication to saving lives. This administration will continue to invest in infrastructure, welfare, training, and innovations that will empower you to deliver optimal services to our people. We remain committed to building a sustainable healthcare system that leaves no community behind,” she said.
