Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has signed the 2025 state budget, amounting to ₦606.99 billion, into law.
The appropriation bill, titled “Changing Gears 2.0,” was assented to on Monday at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, just a month after it was presented to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
During the signing ceremony, Governor Soludo emphasized that the budget prioritizes the five cardinal pillars of his administration, with a strong focus on infrastructure development and human capital investment.
The 2025 budget allocates ₦467.5 billion (77%) to capital expenditure and ₦139.5 billion (23%) to recurrent expenditure, reflecting a significant 48% increase compared to the 2024 budget.
The Governor commended the Anambra State House of Assembly, represented by Speaker Dr. Somtochukwu Udeze and House Committee Chairman on Finance and Appropriation, Mr. Ejike Okechukwu, for their diligence and speedy passage of the bill.
He noted that the budget’s swift implementation would accelerate the state’s development agenda.
The implementation of the 2025 budget will commence on January 1, 2025.
