Over 15,000 underprivileged women, youths, and vulnerable individuals across Edu, Moro, and Pategi local government areas of Kwara State have benefited from a ₦30 million Ramadan package and cash grant initiative.
The intervention, spearheaded by Ahmed Adamu-Saba, the Member representing Edu/Moro and Pategi Federal Constituency, aimed to provide essential food items and financial support to struggling families.
“This programme is designed to alleviate the suffering of our people, especially during this sacred period. Given the economic realities, it is crucial to extend support to those in need,” Adamu-Saba stated during the distribution exercise.
He emphasised that the initiative was non-partisan and inclusive, ensuring that beneficiaries were selected without political, religious, or ethnic bias. To expand the reach of the programme, the lawmaker announced an additional ₦10 million allocation for those who were not included in the initial distribution.
Commending the effort, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu-Dumagi, who spoke on behalf of community leaders in the constituency, lauded Adamu-Saba’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents. He urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate such initiatives to help reduce the economic burden on ordinary Nigerians.
The Ramadan packages and cash grants are expected to provide immediate relief, allowing beneficiaries to observe the fasting period with dignity and ease.
