Nigeria’s YellowGreens began their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier C campaign with a 160-run victory over Gambia at the MKO Abiola Stadium Cricket Oval in Abuja.
Selim Salau led the hosts with an outstanding century, scoring 105 runs off 58 balls to propel Nigeria to a commanding position in the Matchday One encounter.
His explosive innings provided the foundation for Nigeria’s emphatic victory as the hosts dominated their Gambian opponents.
The result gives Nigeria a strong start to the six-nation qualifying tournament, with teams competing for two places in the next stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualification process.
The YellowGreens will look to maintain their winning momentum in their remaining fixtures as they pursue qualification for the next round.
