The Nigerian Navy has dismissed a rating identified as SMMEA UMA TU E5618 after confirming breaches of military regulations involving disobedience to lawful orders and absence without official leave (AWOL).
In a statement posted on its official platform, the Navy said the personnel was found culpable following disciplinary procedures conducted in accordance with the Armed Forces Act, stressing that the offences run contrary to the standards of discipline and professionalism required in the service.
“The rating is found culpable of disobedience to particular orders and absence without official leave,” the statement read, reaffirming the outcome of the internal investigation.

The Navy emphasised that the dismissed individual is no longer in its service and cautioned the public against dealing with him as a serving officer.
“This action underscores our zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline and reinforces our commitment to accountability and operational efficiency,” the statement added.
According to the Navy, the decision reflects its continued enforcement of strict compliance with military rules as part of efforts to uphold high professional standards across its ranks.
