Investments and Securities Tribunal Chairman Aminu Jinaidu has pledged Nigeria’s support to Ethiopia in strengthening its emerging capital market by sharing the country’s experience in resolving investment disputes.
Jinaidu gave the assurance in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the Ethiopian Ambassador to Nigeria, Legesse Geremens Haile.

According to a statement issued on Monday, the ambassador explained that Ethiopia recently established key institutions, including the Ethiopian Exchange and the Ethiopian Capital Market Administration, to strengthen investor confidence and support the country’s growing financial market.
Haile said Ethiopia is interested in understudying Nigeria’s legal and institutional framework for resolving capital market disputes, describing the collaboration as an opportunity to learn from Nigeria’s experience.
He also expressed optimism that both countries would soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen cooperation, particularly within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
A key highlight of the visit was the ambassador’s participation in a live session of the tribunal, where he observed first-hand how investment disputes are handled under Nigeria’s capital market dispute resolution system.
